Skin infections:
Infectious diseases caused by fungi, bacteria, viruses or parasites. Common symptoms include redness, swelling, discharge, itching, and pain.
Acne:
Acne is a very common skin disease characterized by the appearance of pimples and blackheads on the face, neck, chest, and back. It can be caused by excessive sebum production, hormonal changes, stress or lifestyle.
Eczema:
Eczema is a common inflammatory skin condition (dermatitis) that causes red, itchy, and scaly skin. It can be caused by allergies or stress, among others.
Psoriasis:
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease that causes scaly plaques to form on the skin that can be painful. These plaques are often red, followed by scaling and dryness.
Tumors:
Skin tumors are abnormal growths on the skin. They can be benign or malignant. Malignant tumors can spread to other organs in the body, while benign tumors stay in the same place.
Allergies:
An allergy is an exaggerated response of the immune system to certain external agents, such as pollen, dust or food. Common symptoms include skin rashes, itching, a stuffy nose, and shortness of breath.
Burns:
Burns are injuries caused by contact with heat or a chemical source. They can range from mild irritation to severe tissue damage. Symptoms can include redness, pain, blistering, and in the most severe cases, scarring.
Skin diseases due to hormonal changes
Skin diseases caused by hormonal changes affect the cell structure and the production of certain hormones. This can lead to skin changes such as blemishes, acne, redness, flaking, and thickening.
Warts:
Warts are benign growths that form on the skin. They are caused by a virus that is transmitted through the skin.
Conditions that cause hair loss:
They are disorders of the scalp and hair that cause hair loss. These include androgenetic alopecia, a skin condition in which hair follicles gradually weaken; alopecia areata, which causes hair to fall out in small circular areas; and scalp psoriasis, which causes redness, scales, and scaling.
Scalp infections:
These are conditions that affect the scalp, such as pityriasis, a skin condition caused by a fungus; ringworm, an infection caused by a fungus in the hair follicles; and seborrheic dermatitis, a chronic skin condition that causes redness and scales, in oily areas of the scalp.
Nail-related diseases:
These are conditions that affect the health and structure of the nails. These diseases include nail fungus; onycholysis, a disease that causes the nails to separate from the skin; and paronychia, a bacterial infection of the nails.
COSMETIC SKIN CARE
If what you are looking for is to improve the appearance and texture of the skin, remove something that bothers you or delay the passing of the years, our dermatologists offer a series of technologies and advanced treatments specific to each case. The dermatological treatments include mole removal, skin fillers, laser treatments, facial rejuvenation, acne treatment, and laser hair removal. Psychiatrists can specialize in different areas of psychiatry, some of the common fields of specialization include:
Laser Treatments
A dermatologist can perform various laser treatments such as Diode laser to treat acne, Co2 laser to treat wrinkles and fine lines, Nd:YAG laser to treat unwanted hair, Erbium laser to treat aging skin and the intense pulsed light laser to treat skin blemishes.
Mole Removal
Moles are removed because they can be a sign of skin cancer. Some moles are harmless, but others can be precursors to melanoma, a potentially deadly type of skin cancer. Dermatologists can identify suspicious moles and recommend the appropriate treatment for their removal. This removal may include medication, surgery, laser therapy, or cryotherapy (freezing).
facial rejuvenation
A dermatologist can offer a variety of treatments to rejuvenate the skin, including lasers, intense pulsed light, deep cleanings, chemical peels, fillers, botulinum toxin injections, fluid replacement, hyaluronic acid treatments, and radiofrequency treatments. These treatments can help improve the appearance of the skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and improve skin tone and texture.
